On 29 April 2014 School of Economics and Management in Public Administration in Bratislava welcomed the Mayor of Bratislava, doc. RNDr. Milan Ftáčnik, CSc. Mayor Ftáčnik was received by the Rector, prof. Ing. Viera Cibáková, CSc., who presented the various study options and study programmes of the School. After the introduction, a public composed of educators and students of the School listened with great interest to the lecture titled “Municipal Politics and Urban Development” which addressed contemporary issues of regional policy in relation to self-government.
The Mayor explained the role of transparency in public affairs and answered questions pertaining to the functional role of Bratislava self-government. Mayor Ftáčnik presented his philosophy – to regain the trust of the citizens of Bratislava, which means to open the city to public control and participation of citizens in decision-making. He plans to continue basing his policy in the capital on the principles of dialogue and modern solutions.
