Following the invitation of the Chinese representatives of the region and city of Ningbo and education authority of the Ningbo area in this eight-million Chinese port city from 7 to 12 June 2016 the delegation of the School of Economics and Management in Public Administration in Bratislava participated in the third international conference (16 European countries + China) focused on regional cooperation in the area of education, culture and business in order to start the initiative for mutual exchanges of students and teachers of the mentioned regions in the first round.

The delegation of the SEMPA headed by the quaestor Doc. Ing. Ľuboš Cibák, PhD. MBA. participated actively in the meetings in the forums:

• of the top representatives of Chinese and European universities with the focus on entrepreneurship, economics and management and negotiating the strategy of a real resumption of cooperation within the project „One belt, One road“ of the countries of the so-called historical Silk road.

• of regional politicians, mayors of cities and municipalities of the participating countries involving the representatives of self-government of the Zilina self-governing region.
• EDU Expo China – countries of Central and Eastern Europe in education and exchanges, in which concrete opportunities for cooperation with the SEMPA in the area of education and culture were presented by BSBA. Martin Cibák.

Cooperation of the SEMPA and Ningbo Dahongying University

The greatest benefit of the foreign trip was the visit and bilateral working meeting of the representatives of Ningbo Dahongying University and delegation of the SEMPA, with which the Chinese university signed the Memorandum of Understanding during the conference. The ceremony of signing the Memorandum took place with the participation of the top representatives of the city and region of Ningbo, rectors and heads of delegations of the participating universities.

By signing the Memorandum completely new possibilities have been opened both for the SEMPA and its staff, but also perhaps even most importantly for students of the SEMPA who will be able to apply for the opportunity to increase their professional qualifications in the field of education and joint research within the initiative of an exchange program in the area of education.

Visit of the campus of Ningbo Dahongying University

The delegation of the SEMPA on campus of Ningbo Dahongying University was welcomed by Prof. Gao Zhenqiang – vice president of the university and director for international cooperation and exchanges together with the staff of the international affairs department, who presented the mission and field of education of the SEMPA.

The result of the fruitful negotiation was the expression of mutual interest in cooperation in the field of education, staff and student exchange within the bilateral cooperation also in the programme Erasmus plus which was embodied by the signature in the Memorandum of Understanding.

At the end of the meeting heads of delegations exchanged their souvenir gifts. Our delegation was particularly delighted with the gifts which were devoted directly to the rector of the SEMPA, Dr. h. c. Prof. Ing. Viera Cibáková, CSc. by Prof. Gao Zhenqiang for the interest shown in cooperating and sending the delegation to a conference in China.

Visit of the SEMPA by representatives of the Chinese university in september

A delegation of Ningbo Dahongying University will officially visit Bratislava and the SEMPA to actively shift, flesh out and agree on a specific cooperation programme as early as September this year.

On behalf of the School of Economics and Management in Public Administration in Bratislava we would first like to thank the Chinese organisers of the international conference as well as the agency SARIO for the smooth coordination and support of the participating Slovak universities.

About the conference

The delegation of the SEMPA was part of the Slovak team under the coordination of the organisation SARIO which also included Technical University of Žilina, Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, University of Economics and Slovak Technical University in Bratislava. The conference was also attended by management representatives and agencies of the Zilina self-governing region and city of Martin.
