The institute consists of the following departments:
- Department of Economics and Finance
- Department of Management and Marketing
- Department of Small and Medium Entrepreneurship
In education, the chief direction of the institute is focused on the instruction and training of future managers for SMEs in regions and for positions in public administration and self-government.
As for R&D, the institute focuses on the development of small and medium entrepreneurship and on the issues in economics and management of public administration.
The research projects implemented by the institute are projects of institutional research aimed at the support of the development of study programs; projects of applied research aimed at the support of SMEs and cooperation of businesses with organs of public administraton; and international science-and-technology cooperation projects and projects aimed at the support of integration processes and globalisation tendencies in Europe.
